The art world, like everything else, has undergone a shift—one that is both glaringly obvious and achingly subtle, a change in texture that, if you squint just right, almost seems imperceptible. Once, we had the physical, the finite: paint on canvas, clay in hand, the weight of creation almost tangible

Art is anchored

by the stubbornness of artists.

Buyers want to believe the paint suffered,

the clay resisted, and that the artist must break in the process.

They want a physical victory made through seeing trauma.

Out of that friction of ideas: a thing, made real.

Am I too old or too young to understand the shifting landscape?

I peer over the ledge at my peers made digital.

I take the leap, foolishly.

Le Mat: splat.

To engineer the juxtaposition

between dilution and amplification.

Ephemeral, they say.

The magic and the madness.

That art isn’t rare.
